Introduced in 2008 as a new model, the X6 was built on a coupe-crossover configuration featuring some of the most interesting design lines coming out of BMW. The first and most important styling change happened on the rear section, with the roofline going downwards from the very B-pillar. This design line helped the new model gained many fans, as well as detractors… to this day.
In late 2009 BMW they brought on the ActiveHybrid, which they deemed the most powerful production hybrid in the world. In full-electric mode the X6 can maintain 65 km/h resulting in zero emissions. Yet with the 4.4L V8 gas engine the X6 could produce 485 hp, The BMW X6 ActiveHybrid is powerful capable of a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 5.6 seconds.
BMW X6 – Wikipedia
It is built in BMW’s North American plant in Greer, South Carolina alongside the BMW X5, whose platform it shares. It is dubbed a ” Sports Activity Coupé (SAC)” by BMW. A hybrid version, the BMW Concept X6 ActiveHybrid, which is the first such vehicle from BMW, was also announced.
The 2020 BMW X6 stays close to the design of the outgoing model, but is larger in almost all exterior and interior dimensions. The only significant exception is its slightly lower height.
The midsize “Sport Activity Vehicle,” as BMW prefers to call it, retains the steeply raked, coupe-like roof line that separates it from more classic utility vehicles like the original BMW X5. The 2020 model picks up on the larger version of the signature BMW double-kidney grille first seen on the new X7 flagship. Here, however, buyers can order a package that illuminates the grille, along with the daytime running lights that surround the X6′s LED headlamps.
BMW hasn’t disclosed the gas mileage for the 2020 model, but the 2019 X6 xDrive50i got 17 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. Top speed for all models is 130 mph on standard tires; 155 mph on performance tires. Pricing isn’t available yet, but the base price for the 2019 model is $63,550, plus delivery fees.
BMW designers clearly opted for a more aggressive look with the 2020 remake, starting with the larger air intakes on the bumper, as well as the now-standard 20-inch alloy wheels and tires — which can be upgraded to up to 22 inches. The double-bubble roof line flows into twin spoilers above the rear hatch glass. Key design elements, including those spoilers and the “air breathers” that reduce turbulence around the front wheels, have a significant impact on the vehicle’s aerodynamics, improving both fuel economy and performance.

BMW gives its trendsetting 2020 X6 crossover a major makeover in new redesign
Conceived as a blend of a sports coupe and a sport utility vehicle, the original BMW X6 was a breakout product when it was launched in 2008. Its coupe-like shape has spawned a legion of copycat designs from competitors like Mercedes-Benz and Audi.
The all-new BMW X6. Official Launch Film.
Silence describes the space between sounds. Let the BMW X6 lead the tempo. The rhythm is yours. The X6 offers you the choice. Choose your instruments. Choose your world. Are you brave enough to face what’s coming next?
The wretched 2020 BMW X6 has returned, restyled and based on the updated X5 to ruin every conversation about BMWs for another model lifecycle. A beast to the eyes of ///M-thusiasts everywhere. To no real surprise, the leaked images show it’s still one ugly truck.
These three images of the new X6 apparently leaked on a random Instagram account first, according to BMW Blog, but have quickly spread to all of the forums. Boy is this thing…. something.
Let’s see what we have. There’s a quad exhaust setup and what looks like an M50i badge on the tailgate, so we’re looking at the higher performance trim until the X6 M shows up. Where the X4 got 8 Series inspired taillights, this rear treatment is a little more bulbous in its proportions, as it’s naturally larger than the X4. There is a lot going on back there.
And look at that. Full light-up fucking kidney grille. Disgusting.
